The World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH – an international not-for-profit organization that provides global leadership to save an improve lives for people with hemophilia and other inherited bleeding disorders, including hemophilia, von Willebrand disease, rare factor deficiencies, and inherited platelet disorders. Established in 1963, the WFH works with member organizations in 140 countries as well as through a network of international volunteers and healthcare providers to improve and sustain care and “Treatment For All” around the world by training experts in the field to properly diagnose and manage patients, advocating for adequate supply of safe treatment products, and educating and empowering people with bleeding disorders to help them live healthier, longer and more productive lives.

The WFH is currently seeking an exceptional, highly-motivated team player and results-oriented Head of Information Technology to play a strategic role in the development and provision of information services across the organization to fulfill the WFH mission and strategic objectives.

Assisted by a team (3-4) of specialized professionals, provides organization wide expertise and advice on the effective management of information systems and technology, databases, website, online media, mobile and telephone.

Type of position: Regular, full-time

Reporting to: Director, Finance & Administration

Location: WFH Headquarters (Montreal)

Start date: AUGUST 2018 – as soon as possible



Reporting to the Director, Finance & Administration (F&A), the Head of Information Technology leads the strategic development of plans, policies, and procedures relating to WFH information systems and technology, and supervises the implementation and execution of all related activities.



Develop an annual WFH information technology strategic plan in line with organizational needs and annual budget, and responsible for its achievement.

Manage the implementation of all information technology aspects of the WFH Strategic Plan after consultation with senior management and the CEO. Develop an annual IT budget in line with strategic plan and organizational objectives.

Oversee operational functions related to information technology, including planning, implementation, monitoring, maintenance, backup, and replacement. These include network, website, databases, online learning, computer hardware, software, mobile, telephone and conferencing.

Monitor / analyze current WFH information systems (operating systems, hardware, software, networks); identify and recommend new technologies within various constraints (cost, time frame and security); draw up a development or integration plan; oversee implementation of all information systems aspects.

Produce quarterly and annual reports tracking organizational performance against strategic and annual plan targets.

Oversee management and implementation of web and social media platforms and recommend new tools to enhance user experience. Perform regular analyses of performance.

Oversee the customer relationship management (CRM) databases, recommend strategy and oversee implementation, training and usage.

Supervise and develop a team of staff and contractual resources, including the hiring, training and guidance of staff and consultants, the development of annual performance objectives and the assessment of team outputs and performance.
